Dream Big, Start Small and Act Now
Always remember this, “Dream big, start small and act now”. When you dream big, you feel motivated and you feel the energy flowing in you. And when you feel motivated, you will tend to take action to work on your goals. What happen next is that most people will set big goals and tend to think that they can achieve whatever they want as long as they set it as a goal and fully commit to it. The problem with this is that if you don’t have the resources with you, it will be difficult for you to achieve the big things you want. For example, after reading a wealth building book that teaches you how to make a million dollar from the stock market, most people will go ahead and set their goal to be a millionaire, usually within a year. Some with more realistic mindset will set it to be within 3 years. When the time frame for your goal is too short and if you don’t have the necessary resources with you, most likely you will never going to achieve it. Yes, it is absolutely possible to make a million dollar within a year, if you know how to do it and if you have the necessary resources. For most people, they don’t have the tools and the knowledge, but they still go ahead and set such a big goal in the beginning. And this is what makes them fail to accomplish what they want. Think about it, if the goal you set is unrealistic for you, then your mind will automatically sabotage it because you don’t believe that you can achieve it in the first place. This is exactly what happens to most people out there. Here is the solution to this…Start Small and Build Your Success
Yes you have to dream big, and yes you have to start small in the beginning. You want to make it so easy to succeed in the beginning that success seems like effortless to you. Why is this? The reason is so that you can make taking action into a habit. And when taking action is a habit, you will have no problem creating the result you want in the end. Let me give you a brief example. Just like if you set your goal as to write a book, you don’t have to do it all in a day. I know that you are feeling motivated and you are so determined when you just begin this project. However, you have to understand that success is not a sprint, it is a marathon. It is better to commit to write a page a day for 365 days than to write 10 pages in a day and give up on your goal. Therefore, commit to the minimum action step, which is to make small success effortless to you. Commit to only writing 1 page a day. Or if you feel overwhelm, commit to only write 1 or 2 paragraph a day. Trust me, when you commit to only writing the minimum, you will never stop once you reached the minimum. Just like if you commit to hit the gym for only 10 minutes a day, you will never stop once the 10 minutes is up. You will want to do more because you have built up the momentum. When you start small and take action, you will move one step closer toward the things you want. You want to make it so easy that you will take action and it will eventually become a habit. Just like brushing teeth every morning, it has become a habit that you will never miss out doing. The same goes here, commit to the minimum you can do, and when you do it, you will build the momentum and it will become a success habit for you. The key in creating the success you want is by accomplishing small successes every day. And it is these small successes that will bring you the huge impact in life that you desire. Rome was not built in a day and so does Bill Gates’ Microsoft business empire. Success is all about taking the small little actions over a long period of time, thus, build your success today, start small.
